Ridgeview Elementary is proud to be a 2024 Challenge Award recipient, recognized by the Kansas State Board of Education and the Confidence in Kansas Public Education Task Force for narrowing achievement gaps and supporting academic growth for all students. This recognition highlights our ongoing commitment to academic excellence and student success despite challenges related to poverty and language diversity.

Ridgeview Elementary serves students from early childhood through fifth grade in a diverse and dynamic learning environment. With a fluctuating enrollment of approximately 240–250 students, Ridgeview continues to grow and adapt throughout the school year.

Family engagement is a central part of our school culture. Each grade level hosts four family events throughout the year to build strong school-family partnerships, foster a welcoming and safe environment, and support efforts to improve student attendance.

The Ridgeview team includes 105 dedicated full-time and part-time staff members, consisting of classroom teachers, paraprofessionals, specialists, and support staff. We also currently host five student teachers completing their final teaching placements (Block 3). Each grade level has two classroom teachers, and our early childhood program is supported by a team of experienced educators and paraprofessionals. Teachers collaborate weekly in Professional Learning Communities (PLCs), focusing on priority standards for English language arts and math.

This year marks Ridgeview’s second year implementing PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports) and the first year rolling out our PBIS Team Plan building-wide. We’ve introduced “Panther Pay” as our schoolwide positive reinforcement system, aligned with our School Improvement Plan (SIP), which emphasizes clearly stating and displaying learning intentions in both English language arts and math to enhance instructional clarity for students and teachers alike.

We are becoming leaders within our school through the Leader in Me model.
